Mermaid Memorial The memorial was built in 1902 by Amandus Adamson in memory of those who died in the Gulf of Finland on a Russian Navy vessel called the Rusalka. This tragedy occurred on September 7, 1893.The 16-meter sculpture was placed by the sea, where the walking path from Kadriorg Palace descends to the Bay of Tallinn.
